Thanksgiving Blessings

Thank Thee

O Thou whose bounty fills my cup,
With every blessing meet!
I give Thee thanks for every drop—
The bitter and the sweet.

I praise Thee for the desert road,
And for the riverside;
For all Thy goodness hath bestowed,
And all Th grace denied.

I thank Thee for both smile and frown,
And for the gain and loss;
I praise Thee for the future crown
And for the present cross.

I thank Thee for both wings of love
Which stirred my worldly nest;
And for the stormy clouds which drove
Me, trembling, to Thy breast.

I bless Thee for the glad increase,
And for the waning joy;
And for this strange, this settled peace
Which nothing can destroy.

-Jane Crewdson (1860)

From our family to yours, CJ and I wish that you have wonderful, fruitful and thankful Thanksgiving. We hope that you are able to be with the ones you love today or reached out and let them know how truly thankful you are for them.

Designing Our Wedding

Well CJ and I FINALLY got married! That's why I've been away since April. Oh and we bought a house which it totally different story. So between planning a wedding, moving and working full time and being a soon-to-be wife my plate was rather full to say the least!

When we got engaged the first thing I knew 100% was the bridesmaids dresses. And basically the ENTIRE wedding decor was based around these dress. I know this absolutely sounds insane. But it totally worked. The Sequin Cowl Back Cap Sleeve Gown by Badgley Mischka retails for around $600.00. I personally felt that I couldn't ask my bridesmaids to spend that type of money for a dress. But Rent the Runway let's you rent these exact dresses for 4 days for around $80.00 #SCORE.

Pinterest became my go to for everything wedding. We decided that our colors would be champagne gold (glitter) and white. Like 99% of women in America, I had several pin-boards for my wedding. (TIP: If you are friends with a lot of your wedding guests make sure you have your board sent to secret. Which I did.). We did everything (decor wise) ourselves. From the center pieces to the signs my mom and sister made, to the party favors. I would say we saved over 75% by doing things ourselves. Now it did take a lot of planning and help but it was fun to do it that way!

Tips for DIY wedding decor:

  • Certain seasons for colors. We knew what our colors where before Thanksgiving 2015. So after Christmas my mom and I shopped our hearts out for White and Glitter gold. Mostly at Michaels and Joann's after Christmas sale. Because gold and white everything is the Christmas trend lately.
  • If you need vases go to the Dollar Tree Online! You can order by the case and pick up at your local Dollar Tree. SO FREAKING CHEAP!
  • Target Dollar Section had awesome frames and chalk boards that we used. (All the signs and table numbers where made by my mom and sister. If you're interested in purchasing one please email me at kyleeinheels@gmail.com
  • Use Michaels and Joann's coupons. New one's come out EVERY WEEKEND
  • DO NOT RENT YOUR LINENS. We thought about renting our table overlay linens. But 15 tables at 20.00 renting fee per linen? Umm no. We bought all of our linens for all 15 tables AND had 10 extra for 100.00.
  • Use Mother Nature... She's free. Bless my Mom and Dad. I wanted tree branches as a center piece and they found them all and cleaned and spray painted them.
  • Create your own ideas. We used a photo album with white index cards as a sign in book. After someone left us a note on the index card they slid it into the photo spot! GENIUS!
  • Be flexible. It's your wedding. My motto during our wedding was "No one is going to remember the details but me."

All of our photos where taken by Emma Burdis Photography. She is a local Florida Photographer and was so amazing! I highly recommend her! Also if you have any questions about our wedding please feel free to reach out to me by leaving a comment or by email at kyleeinheels@gmail.com.
