Night Time Face Routine

I have skin issues. Only a select few people know the extent I have to go through to keep my skin clear. After years of doctors appointments and trying everything under the sun, I finally found a doctor that could diagnose my skin condition. I have a combination of psoriasis and cysts that form under my skin. It got so bad at the age of 24, I would only leave the house to go to work and come home.

So to all my girlfriends out there that have skin issues this post is for you. I am NOTORIOUS for reading the labels of things before I put them on my skin. Everything I own that goes on my face is oil-free and non comedogenic. It has made a WORLD of difference in my skin. And I know this will really help you. I hope you enjoy today's post and please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Step One: Cleansing your face.

I use SkinCeuticals LHA cleanser with my Clarisonic Mia 2 (with a acne head brush). I am usually in the shower when I do this. This is to get the general "crap" off my skin. I know with all the make-up and pollutants that come in the air, I can't get it all off. That's why I do step two and three!

Step Two and Three: Take it all off.

I use Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover to take the rest of my eye makeup off and then to make sure EVERY LAST DROP of makeup is really off my face I use Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water. I swear by the cleaning water. It is the most amazing makeup remover ever.

Step Four: Moisturize your face and eyes.

After I basically have stripped my face naked, I moisturize it with Dr. Jart + Ceramidin Liquid. Again total obsession and can't live without it. They only sell this stuff at Sephora. But the bottle lasts for very long time if you use it sparingly. I then follow it up with eye cream. I know I'm in my twenties but thirty years from now I know I will be thanking myself for it. I use BareMinerals Renew and Hydrate Eye Cream. I use this twice a day. Once in the morning and before I head off to bed!

Flu Shot Needed.

So I spent all weekend in bed battling a mild (THANK GOD) cold. It probably didn't help that I decided that I would run it out yesterday by running 8 miles. But with that said, no post today. Don't worry darlings I will be back up and running (literally and figuratively) tomorrow. You all are the best and thank you so much for understanding. xoxo

Wardrobe Wednesdays: 80's Rewind

[ Top / Jeans (similar here) / Bag (similar here) / Necklace (similar here) / Earrings / Sunglasses / Bracelet / Shoes ]

It's Wednesday! My favorite day of the week. I hope you all are having a great week! So I've been having a current obsession with button downs lately. But this outfit was a total 80's inspiration from my Mom. I remember that she had a love for oversized button down and tops and would always pair them with leggings or straight leg jeans. I always thought she looked like young Audrey Hepburn with her extremely thin frame and short brown colored hair. She always had this air of class about her. I think this is where my fashion obsessed self started. So I dedicate this post to my classical chic Momma. I'm stealing you look from the 80's! xoxo

Beauty Diaries: Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

First of all I want to send a big THANK YOU for all the support I received on my YouTube Channel announcement! I am so blessed and excited to be taking this on. Second, I would like to apologize for not having a post yesterday! I was in a little accident on Tuesday that included blowing my tire on my car on a MAJOR highway. I am A-OK but my poor little Lucy Car is going to be in the shop until next week. BOOO. But on to today's post...

I am a mascara girl. Mascara is my war paint. I will not leave the house with out it on. It truly makes such a difference. I once heard Oprah say that a woman should never leave the house without mascara on. I was 12 when I heard this, and from that day on I NEVER left the house without it on.

I had been seeing some commercials for a new one from L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga. I immediately wanted to try it. So I took a little ride down to Target and picked up a bottle for $7.99. It has been about 2 weeks are so since I started using it and OMG I am obsessed. This mascara is so light and blumping it is amazing. The fullness I get out of this mascara makes you become obsessed with it. The best part? You can keep layering it on with as many coats to make it even bigger and fuller. You get the look of fake lashes without having to deal with the glue an all that jazz!

Miss Manga is going to be a staple in my makeup bag for a while.

Fall Must Haves: Fashion

I love fall. It is the one thing that I miss so much. I may be a Florida girl (born & raised) but I lived four years of my life in Boone NC. Fall weather usually doesn't hit Florida until end of January, but that still doesn't mean that I can't dress like it's fall! Lookbooks for fall are popping up everywhere so I compiled my must have looks for fall! Enjoy!

Wardrobe Wednesdays: I stole your jeans......

I've been nervous to try boyfriend jeans. Being the thin girl that I am, I tend to shy away from overly baggy clothing items. It's just never been my style. But after a couple of pictures on Pinterest I became OBSESSED with finding the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans. After a couple weeks of casual searching, I found the perfect pair at none other than my FAVORITE outlet shop GAP Factory Outlet. I loved pairing it with a white sweater for an late summer/early fall look. Living in South Florida wearing white after Labor Day isn't that frowned upon. And with Labor Day being only two days ago, I can get away with it.

Guilt Free Monthly Favorites: September

I've been crazy about eyelashes the last month! Along with blush and eyebrows. My current list of obsessions could go on and on for days. It was very hard to narrow down my top five picks of the month!! After hours of thinking, I finally did. And I am complete obsessed with this list. It's so diverse and touches every area of my life. The best part? All of these items are under $50.00 which is so great, because I know I am not the only beauty girl on a budget out there. Be on the look out for reviews on these items during the month of September!

Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is celebrated in the United Stated by family time and barbecues. We will be spending time with CJ's family because my family is spread from Philadelphia (siblings) and Georgia (parents). I thought it would be fun to share with you some fun facts about Labor day!
  • Oregon was the first state to recognize it as a holiday in 1887
  • In 1894 Congress passed an act observing the first Monday in September as a legal holiday
  • Wearing white or seersucker clothing was frowned upon if worn after labor day because it is "unofficial" mark to the end of summer.
  • The first U.S. Labor Day was celebrated in 1882, in NYC. It was planned by the Central Labor Union.
  • Originally Labor Day began as a significant demonstration demanding rights for workers.
Enjoy today with your family and friends! Also PLEASE be safe out there and don't do something silly!
