2017 Beauty Resolutions (AKA Beauty Goals)

With the New Year comes resolutions and if you saw my rant on resolutions then you know that I prefer goals instead. So really this post should be called Beauty Goals instead of Beauty Resolutions. But I will totally digress. Because as William Shakespeare once said "What's in a name?".

Simple Morning Routine
It takes me a hot second to get ready for work in the morning. Between hair touch ups and makeup, I'm looking at a good hour. I would love to make my hair and makeup routines simpler. I know I need to find a new foundation with better coverage. Mostly because of the scaring I have on my face. I have some skin issues that require me to see a dermatologist every six months. Something simple with a neutral colored eye would be perfect!

Drink More Water
Let's have some real talk. I hate plain water. CJ on the other had drinks bottles a day of it. Now water with lemon in it? I could drink gallons of that stuff. I keep a pitcher full of lemon water in my fridge at all times. According to the Mayo Clinic and the Institute of Medicine (I feel like a genius for saying that!) you should be drinking 8 glasses of 8 oz of water a day. 64 oz a day? I know this will help my skin so much. So I found this 25 oz bottle that I have ordered. 3 of these a day? Basically I am going to be peeing a lot.

Nutrition
You are what you eat. How many times have you heard that? I don't eat horrible, but I don't eat amazing. CJ and I eat out once a week (usually on the weekends) and I take my lunch to work 4-5 times a week. Mostly leftovers from the night before, because my darling husband won't eat left overs. But I need to get my greens in. It has always been a problem from me because I hate certain veggies... Looking at you broccoli. Adding this to my morning protein shake may help. I also need to get my vitamins in order.

Clean Makeup Brushes (Bi Weekly)
You know what I am talking about. I don't even want to admit how long it's been since I washed my brushes. I am totally grossed out just thinking about it. As much of a skin care freak as I am this is something I hardly do. Which is awful because of all the dirt and skin cells and nasty that can live on your brushes that can cause break outs galore! Just clean them.

Find Eye Cream That WORKS!
I'm on the downward spiral to 30. I need to start taking care of my skin now. Because of the skin issues I have and the certain prescriptions I use (always Dr. approved!) it seems that the skin around my eyes are super sensitive. When I use an eye cream from Sephora or Ulta it burns the skin around my eyes making them watery and red. If you have a similar issue and have found an eye cream that works let me know in the comments below!

Pamper Myself
Taking care of my hair, skin and nails has become very important to me. I've decided I need to keep my hair healthy by doing at home hair masks regularly and getting hair cuts every 6-8 weeks. Keep my cuticles nourished in between nail appointments with solar oil. Moisturize with lotion in the morning and body oil at night (PS I'm OBSESSED with body oils). AND my favorite get a facial every 6 weeks. I love getting facials. With at home skin masks in between.

What are you doing for your beauty health in 2017? Let me know in the comments below! I'd love to hear them!
