Night Time Skin Care Routine

Over the last couple years I've struggled to find a skin care routine that works for me. I've bought many different skin care lines from many companies and never found one that worked.... Until now! About 8 months before our wedding I decided to find a dermatologist here in Indiana. Since we had just moved up here and I didn't have one, I just wanted my skin to be flawless like every bride.

The Dermatologist gave me my skin diagnosis (which I already knew) and prescribed me Ziana for eczema and acne with Retin A. I had never been prescribed this before and was nervous.  I also asked for face wash and moisturizer she gave me the name of a brand that I could pick up at CVS. I about died. But I knew I had to give it 12 weeks for it to work (fun face medicine fact!).

On my way home from the Derm, I stopped at CVS and picked up exactly what she told me and went home. Here we are 10 months later and I am eczema and acne free! My face feels and looks amazing. I am beyond happy and I wanted to share with you guys the keys to my clear skin!

Note: This is my NIGHT TIME skin care routine. I will be working on my morning routine in the near future!

Step 1: Remove Makeup - IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3 in 1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm

Y'all have no idea how obsessed I am with this stuff! This is the first step before I even hop in the shower. I have to remove my makeup before I wash my face otherwise it doesn't feel clean to me. I've been using this stuff for about 5-6 months now and it is great. It doesn't clog your pores and helps so much with dry skin in the winter. I slather this stuff all over my face and eyes (it's so gentle on them!) leave it on for one - two mins. Jump in the shower and wash it off. Trust me there won't be a trace of makeup left on your face!

Side Note: If you're not into putting chemicals on your face coconut oil works just as well and you can pick it up when you go to the grocery store. I use coconut oil to get the wax off my legs when I wax them. Or you can buy this makeup cloth. It works wonders. I have two!
Step 2: Wash Face - CeraVe Foaming Face Cleanser

I KNOW! How can an $8.00 face wash work? Maybe it's because Dermatologist developed it and cut the crap ingredients out? Yup- I'm going with that as my final answer. This stuff is amazing. I can not say enough about this. It is unscented, which I personally love because if it had a scent it's just more crap that doesn't need to be on my sensitive skin! The formula is extremely gentle on skin and deeps cleans. This is a must in my night time skin care routine
Step 3: Deep Clean - Clarisonic Mia 2 (3 times a week)

This is optional and a total investment piece to have in your skin care arsenal. I've had my Clarisonic for close to 5 years. It has been totally worth it. I'd really like to upgrade to this one. But I will once my current Mia 2 kicks the bucket. I use my Clarisonic 3 times a week when I feel like I need a deeper clean. She will do some serious deep cleaning too (she sometimes make my skin super sensitive after using her). What I do after Step 1& 2 is I add a pump of my CeraVe to the brush and continue to clean my face. It's great way to clean deeper into your skin and totally worth the investment.
Step 4: Medicate or Serum - Ziana (prescription) or SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel

You can take two different courses with this one. I use Ziana that was prescribed to me by a licensed dermatologist (aka DOCTOR). This is me getting on a little soap box rant. Please do not try to buy this prescription off eBay or Amazon or from the online black market place. That is so dangerous! If you have problematic skin please see a doctor who can help you. I have also used SkinCeutical B5 Gel in the past. I loved this serum it worked so well on my skin. I picked it up from my dermatologist back home in Florida. I would also recommend getting this from the actual SkinCeuticals website because I've heard that there are some fake dealers on amazon.

Step 5: Moisturize - CeraVe PM Moisturizer or Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer

I do switch back and fourth between these two moisturizers. But what they both have in common is that they are Oil Free and Non-Comedogenic. I use the CeraVe Moisturizer when my skin is feeling extra dry, usually in the winter. The Kate Somerville is light and not heavy on your skin. Since it is winter I've been using the CeraVe PM more than the Kate Somerville.

Spot treatment: Pimples happen. I use the Kate Somerville Eradikate Spot Treatment... And CJ use this too. He is probably going to kill me for disclosing that. But men care about their faces too y'all! This is great for suffocating the problem area over night. I swear by this stuff! So does CJ. :)

Bonus Step!

Lips- CeraVe Healing Ointment & EOS Fresh Grapefruit with SPF 30

I LIVE FOR THIS LIP COMBO! Cracked lips are a norm for me. Especially in the winter. Sometimes I wake up with dried blood on my lips... Sorry TMI but I know I'm not the only one! I invented this little combo when I got a sample on the CeraVe Healing Ointment attached to my face wash. The Healing Ointment is for dried, cracked skin. I do a light layer on my lips after I get out of the shower, wait 5-10 mins then apply EOS Fresh Grapefruit on top. I love EOS and have multiple lip balms in my purse and at work. Try it. It works.

What are some night time products you use? Comment below and let me know! I'd love to hear and maybe try them.
